The Gin Case !
Built in 1767 Parkergate has featured on the map and community of Bassenthwaite & Keswick for generations. Now a collection of luxury holiday homes for couples, friends, family on UK Lake District staycations, Parkergate cottages are loved by many regular guests and new visitors.
With Skiddaw right behind, Blencathra and Helvellyn close by, as well as all the Derwent Fells and Western Lakes with Scafell Pike not far away, there is plenty for the active to achieve.
For days off – Keswick is a bustling traditional town to explore; or there are the Ospreys to view nesting in Dodd Wood by the MireHouse; ramble to Bassenthwaite Lake; Derwent Water for boating and much more. Being just off the A591 we are also easily accessible to other areas of the English Lake District of Cumbria.
Minimum stay policy is 3 nights. Check in/out days are Mondays and Fridays.

Comfy 1 bedoom, ground floor, historic cottage – sleeps 2 people
Originally called the Gin Case, where corn was threshed by horses turning a horizontal wheel, today’s Stable Cottage still features the curved feature wall inside.
Comfortable, ground floor, very large bedroomed cottage with zip or clip King Size or Twin bed presents options for 2 people. There is an optional sofa bed which could be set up to use as a Double sleepover if extra guests are booked in.
Stable Cottage also has easy access from the main courtyard where there is a designated parking space.
Inside the accommodation
The main window looks South and from the sitting room there are double glass doors leading through to the kitchen/dining room, The dining table wits cosily in the modern kitchen. From the kitchen window there are fantastic views of our gardens across to Binsey, the most Northerly hill in the Lake District. Outside there is a large garden with several places to sit and enjoy the great outdoors and our wonderful sunsets.
